Sun Life Stadium

Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, will host the third-place playoff on 18 July plus a quarterfinal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, competing under the name Miami Stadium.

The stadium in brief

Opened in 1987 (originally as Joe Robbie Stadium), the venue has been extensively modernised, including a canopy roof that shades every seat from the Florida sun. It is the home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins and the Miami Hurricanes college team, and also stages the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix and the Miami Open tennis tournament. World Cup capacity is around 65,000.

History

One of the most versatile arenas in world sport, it has hosted six Super Bowls, the College Football Playoff Championship and the 2024 Copa America final, underlining South Florida's pedigree as a marquee event destination.
