Googleplex — Street View

Plan a visit to Google’s Mountain View campus area, with current hours, free access, transit and the distinction between public spaces and offices.

“Googleplex” is the familiar name for Google’s corporate headquarters in Mountain View, California. The company’s own history says Google eventually moved from its early garage office to the Mountain View headquarters. That does not mean every building on the large campus is open to visitors: offices remain workplaces, and the company does not offer guided tours of the visitor experience. Travelers should plan for the specific public destination nearby, rather than expect access to employee buildings.

This distinction matters because the place name is often used broadly for Google’s Mountain View presence. Google identifies its office location at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, while its Google Visitor Experience is at Gradient Canopy, 2000 North Shoreline Boulevard. The two are part of the same technology-company landscape, but they are not the same visitor address or the same kind of space. Check the destination on your map before setting out.
