Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia will host six matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a Round of 16 tie, under its tournament name Philadelphia Stadium.

The stadium in brief

Opened in 2003, 'The Linc' is the home of the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and is renowned for one of the most passionate fan bases in American sport. World Cup capacity is about 69,000. The open-air bowl is famous for its electric, intimidating atmosphere on game day.

History

The stadium replaced Veterans Stadium and has hosted Army-Navy games, the NFL Draft, College Football Playoff semifinals and Copa America Centenario fixtures. Its location at the heart of Philadelphia's sports complex makes it one of the most accessible venues of the tournament.
