Grotta del Tinetto is not a walking cave or a stop reached by an ordinary island ferry. It is a submerged dive site on the western side of the tiny Tinetto islet in the Porto Venere archipelago. The official regional park describes it as one of the area's most scenic underwater routes, known for a shaft that admits sunlight into the cave and produces dramatic beams below the surface.
Tinetto, neighboring Tino and Palmaria belong to the UNESCO property “Portovenere, Cinque Terre, and the Islands,” inscribed in 1997 as a cultural landscape shaped by a millennium of settlement, terraces and maritime adaptation. The surrounding protected waters add ecological responsibility to the archaeological and scenic context. A dive here takes place in a regulated living habitat, not an adventure playground.
