Tartanlar Mansion stands in central Karaman as one of the city’s principal examples of traditional Anatolian Turkish domestic architecture. GoTürkiye dates it to 1810 and attributes its construction to Hacı Ahmet Efendi of the Tartanzade family.
The house has two storeys organized around a central hall. This arrangement managed circulation between rooms while creating a social core within the household. Its scale is domestic, making close attention to doors, ceilings and wall surfaces more rewarding than expecting palace grandeur.
