Spectrum Center — Street View

A practical guide to Spectrum Center in Uptown Charlotte: Hornets games, concerts, its 2025 renovation, entry rules and event-day planning.

Spectrum Center stands at 333 East Trade Street in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a major indoor venue and the home court of the Charlotte Hornets, but the calendar also includes concerts, family shows and other ticketed events. The arena is best understood as an event destination rather than a conventional museum or sightseeing attraction: public access depends on a scheduled event, ticket and the venue’s current entry procedures. Its position in Uptown makes it part of a wider downtown visit, yet the arena itself does not publish general daily sightseeing hours.

The building opened on October 21, 2005, under its earlier name, Charlotte Bobcats Arena. The venue’s own twentieth-anniversary retrospective identifies that opening date and describes two decades of basketball and entertainment programming. The team’s name and the arena’s corporate naming rights changed over the years, so older travel references may use a former venue name. For current listings, ticket purchases and arrival instructions, use the official Spectrum Center calendar rather than assuming an old event page is still valid.
