ABOUT San Francisco Bay Area Stadium


Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, will host six matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, playing as the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.

The stadium in brief

Opened in 2014 at a cost of roughly US$1.3 billion, it is the home of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers and was built with a strong emphasis on technology and sustainability, earning LEED Gold certification. World Cup capacity is about 71,000.

History

The stadium has hosted Super Bowl 50 and Super Bowl LX (February 2026), the College Football Playoff Championship, WrestleMania and Copa America Centenario matches, making it one of the most event-tested venues of the tournament.
