It was on the territory of Old Kyiv that the first stone church of Russia was built - the Tithe Church (end of the 10th century). There were several princely palaces near St. Andrew's Church. Several gates led to the city: Lyadski, Zhydivski, Zoloti (ruins have been preserved), Sofiyski, there was an entrance from Podil. The territory was destroyed in 1240 during an Mongol-Tatar attack.
