SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Greater Los Angeles, is the most expensive stadium ever built and will host eight matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a quarterfinal on 10 July. During the tournament it is called Los Angeles Stadium.
The stadium in brief
Opened in 2020 at a cost of around US$5 billion, SoFi is the shared home of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. Its translucent, fixed canopy roof and the vast 'Infinity Screen' double-sided video board make it a global architectural landmark.
