The C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa protects and interprets an Indigenous mound complex within T.O. Fuller State Park in southwest Memphis. Mississippian communities built and occupied the principal earthworks between about AD 1000 and 1500. Platform mounds supported ceremonial or high-status activities within a settlement connected to the rich river landscapes of the Mid-South.
The University of Memphis operates the museum, archaeological site and grounds. Exhibits address prehistoric and historic occupations, contemporary Native American cultures and the methods archaeologists use to interpret material evidence. A replica house is educational reconstruction, not an original surviving building; keeping that distinction clear makes the presentation more useful.
