Byzantine-period Site — Street View

The Byzantine-period remains of ancient Rhosos survive inside Arsuz’s military zone, making them protected history rather than an open attraction.

The “Byzantine-period Site” marked near Arsuz corresponds to remains associated with ancient Rhosos, a port settlement on the Gulf of Iskenderun. Hatay's Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism states explicitly that the surviving Roman and Byzantine section lies inside a military area. It must therefore be treated as a protected, non-public site, not as a ruin travelers can enter.

No published visitor hours or tickets apply to this location. Do not approach military fencing, photograph restricted facilities, fly a drone or follow an online pin through a gate. The appropriate experience is to understand the history from lawful public areas in Arsuz and visit accessible museums or heritage sites elsewhere in Hatay.
