Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, midway between Boston and Providence, will host seven matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a quarterfinal on 9 July. During the tournament it is called Boston Stadium.

The stadium in brief

Opened in 2002, it is the home of the NFL's New England Patriots and MLS side New England Revolution, making it one of the few venues with strong soccer roots. World Cup capacity is around 65,000. The complex is anchored by Patriot Place, a large retail and entertainment district.

History

Home of the most successful NFL dynasty of the 2000s, Gillette has hosted CONCACAF Gold Cup matches, international friendlies and Copa America Centenario games, giving it genuine football credentials ahead of 2026.
